guitar straps. Friend of mine has old strap from guitar. Attaching strap to camera will need some skills but choices are really diverse. Length and way of wearing would be right for OP.

Guitar strap? It may take a bit of work for the ends, but nothing you can't figure out.

Oh dear. You shouldn't link that. From seat belt strap I got an idea.
Anyway in Finland and Sweden (at least) there is mostly car parts, tools and cheap electronics selling company called Biltema.
For buying you need to understand what you are buying because everything isn't top quality.

Anyway I think I'll go and buy trimbelt with huge Biltema names on it and then I'll make piece of aluminium which moves tripod threads back to optical axis on my K-3 battery grip and gives connection point for the strap. But getting BMW belt would be also good. It would be statement of where I put my money. Not to cars but cameras. Depends a lot of style of wearer.

Here's the trimbelt so that I can poison other minds too with B-strap:

I was going to suggest these... My brother bought me one of their camera straps made from old Volkswagen seat fabric. It perfectly matches the frivolity of my bright yellow K-01 (even if the strap is red)...

Though that might wander too close to the hipster zone for the OP...

Hipster or retro? The 1970s camera straps were essentially guitar straps, with their wild color patterns. Facial hair is optional.
I'm tempted to get a strap from them, but deciding which...

Thanks for everyone's suggestions! I ended up with the blue Peak Design strap and I love it! I'm sure I'll pick up an Eddystrap some day, though.

Really nice thread. I have never heard of
Peak Design. I like both the
slide and the clutch. Will have to save up for it.
Thanks to all involved.

Interesting straps, they use a Pentax K1000 to model their Camera straps.

And a Kx in some, with what looks like a Sigma lens. Too many choices at Couch! What to buy?

Also, take a look at OpTech.
X 2. I replaced the Canon strap on my G12 about a year ago. Had nothing but issues with the Canon strap. The Optech strap I replaced it with, is a great strap, comfortable, reliable , durable.

Hey all,

The strap that came with my K-30 is starting to run ragged, and I'd like to replace it with something nice.
I can recommend:

gordy's camera straps

I use their wrist straps, but am sure their full straps are of a similar high quality. Not the cheapest, but
you do get what you pay for here.
