bellows and aperture actuation

Hope it's the right section.
I've recently bought a cheap bpm bellows (full manual) with pentax k adapter, it works great but it is a little annoying to fiddle with the aperture ring every time i want to check or change the focus. So i was wondering if there is some kind of adapter i could use to activate the aperture lever on the lens, to allow something like a pre select lens. I know there is the pentax bellow but i can not afford it right now. Do you guys know some alternative?

If your bellows isn't built for it, then AFAIK you're stuck with stop-down metering. Start saving your pennies.

Thats a shame, i'm not really interested in metering, just a way to open wide and then return to working aperture to ease focus.

So there are a couple of options. The genuine Pentax auto bellows came with a cable release that would do that for you. The camera side release would only work with a physical bracket to push the button on the DSLR - but you could use it to actuate the lens only and then trip the camera another way.

The novaflex system bellows are crazy expensive but offer electronic communication typically - although I haven't verified it works that way with Pentax. https://www.novoflex.com/en/products/macro-accessories/bellows-systems/adapters-for-castbal-ts/

An M42 lens with the Auto/Manual switch makes a nice quick to use option - auto while focusing, manual when shooting. It is a simple single slide switch vs. clicking off the aperture stops.

Or an older 'pre-set' lens with dual aperture rings.

Working with bellows is a deliberate enough process I've never considered a manual aperture a hindrance.

I have typically used an M42 bellows so I haven't noticed either. I often use an enlarging lens on the end of it or an M42 lens. To be honestly mostly I use my dedicated macro lens or add on Raynox.

If you're shooting digital and your camera has live view, there's another option.

There's also an older Novoflex bellows with a mechanical aperture linkage, but these seem to be uncommon.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'll probably set for now with what i have, can't afford much and i prefer to save for lenses. The bellow work well anyway for my needs, it's just that coming from the macro tubes with aperture lever i missed it a little.
