I have a K-3II and a K-5IIS. I ordered a Foto&Tech Wired Remote Shutter Release Control CS-205 Replacement for PENTAX 645Z, 645D, K3, K5, K5 II, K30, K50, K500, K7, K110D, K100D, K100D Super, K200D, K10D, K20D and it did not work with either camera. I do not know if I was sent the wrong model, but it looked exactly like what was in the picture of it on the web. I sent it back today, and was notified that my refund was approved (Amazon).

So, I have been looking at the Vello RS-C1II Wired Remote Switch for Select Cameras RS-C1II B&H. Does anyone have any experience with this product? B and H seems like they know what they are doing, and I want something that works.

Silly question and I mean no offense but did you have your camera(s) settings set to use the wired remote? I mostly use IR now but I believe you still have to change to the remote setting to use the wired remote too don't you?

I tried it with and wthout it on, neither way did it work. I made sure I was in Single Shot mode w/o remote on and it still did not work.

Is there a particular reason you want a wired remote? I'm going to get the Vello wireless release to replace the wired one.

I have a wireless release and it works fine, but the battery goes dead in the cold weather. I recently bought a set (2) of LIR3032 rechargeable batteries and a charger for them to use in case I need it. The LIR2032 is the rechargeable counterpart for the CR2032 non-rechargeable type. The IR remote that I have is the JJC IS-P1, and it works with my K-3II and K-5IIS. The reason I want the wired shutter release is the power is derived from the camera, which may be more dependable in cold weather situations than the smaller batteries. Please note that I have not used the rechargeable LIR2032 batteries in the cold or other weather yet, and am almost positive they will perform as expected, with some degree of success under the right conditions.

Aww, that makes sense! I plan on keeping my wired Vello release along with the wireless, so like you will have all bases covered. Thanks for the parts #'s of the rechargable batteries for the CR2032. The wireless I'm planning on is the IR-P1 (Vello). Wonder what the difference is between yours & this one?

I think they basically do the same thing, but the button/control set differs. The pricing including shipping looks similar (approx. 10 dollars), presuming the one you are looking at has 2-3 dollars shipping (my guess). Below is the path to what I have.

The wireless remote port on my K-50 is in the front of the camera, so it's really only useful if I want to take pictures in which I'm in the scene. The wired remote is a lot more useful, because I can use it to take a picture when I want absolutely no shaking, e.g., w/bulb or slow shutter speeds.

Free shipping would make it cheaper than my guess, and the cr2025 is different than the cr2032, both being coin type, approx. 3 V batteries. As I said, they are similar function, and mine does work.

The battery charger I ordered, that I am waiting for, has a European type plug, but I also bought an adapter for it to use in US plug outlets.

Good point! I believe the wireless port is probably the same on the K3 (front); I'll have to take a look. This may have me rethinking getting a wireless one!
