Pedco Ultrapod II

I did a little search and didn't see a thread for this handy little tripod, so I thought I'd start one. I think it's a great piece of kit if you're on the go. I found it will support an SLR and a prime very well, and it comes with a really handy strap, so you can use guard rails, sign posts, trees limbs, etc as a base for your tripod. Definitely not the right tripod for every job, but a handy little piece of kit, and way better than other offerings at that price point. It has it's limits, but if you stay within them, it's quite a handy tripod.

I had bought this quite a while back and it stayed on the shelf forever until I acquired a little camera (Fuji XE-2) and started to use it again for the occasional shots.
Pretty tough although a little weak in the legs !
It makes a great "grip" too !

Cheers!

Thanks! The two go together super well. Especially my spotmatic F that has a self timer on it, great for getting slow shutter speed shots.

I bought one of these maybe 20 years ago from REI Outfitters - It has an REI logo on it

I've been using it lately as a stand for my flash when doing macro work but it is a nice piece of gear.

I think someone should take this design and re-implement it in aluminum for a much more rigid tool.
Otherwise, a clever little design, albeit a bit flimsy.
