Anyone tried the Kenko Teleplus DG 1.4X MC4 Teleconverter with the Tamron SP 70-200mm

Just wondering if anyone has any experience of this lens and teleconverter together such as image quality etc. Also on which Camera would be helpful. I'm looking to use it for mostly birds and wildlife and with a K5/5ii, K-S2 or K3.Thanks you for your replies in advance.

I have the kenko AF, pic 6 here.

Kenko (?Promaster et al..) AF/Pz-AF 1.4x/1.5x Teleplus.... Lens Reviews - Miscellaneous Lenses - Pentax Lens Review Database

IQ is good IMO, I have used with adaptall 300mm and 200-500mm, and a bit with the DAL 55-300mm - Af still functioned. Should work well with a fast quality 70-200mm. There was a thread recently comparing some of these 1.4x tc's.

Camera model is fairly irrelevant in terms of operation and function I think - all those you mention will work the same. The ones with more MPx give you more cropping latitude - many would argue that you do as well/better simply cropping over using a tc.

Unless you are after eagles or moose at close range, the 70-200 won't be long enough for birds and wildlife. At the very least, go for the 150-450. When I go chasing birds, I am either using the 150-450 or a Signa 500 f4.5 APO DG EX with a Pentax 1.4x. There is no substitute for reach.

I have a K-3 with Kenko 1.5X and Tamron 70-200mm. IQ is excellent. For stills shooting it is a great combo, action not so much. Autofocus takes a definite hit. The combo is noticeably slower to acquire focus. Not recommended for birds in flight, which is what I tried. I ended up removing the TC out frustration. As Adrian said above, 200mm is normally too short for birds and heavy cropping demands a cost in IQ.

I haven't shot sports, which IME is much demanding on AF than birds in flight.
