Asahi Bellowscope?

I saw this on Kijiji and have never seen it before and can find very little info:

It is a bellows of some sort with a screw mount (M37 or M42) and it seems folded in a weird way...

Looks like the original bellows for the AsahiFlex.

Maybe this will help.

it's basically a standard bellows, that folds up, for easy storage. Something you can put in your camera bag.

Thanks!

So a foldable (M37?) bellows?

Looks like a different folding set, different name and box as well.

The link @wtlwdwgn shared shows it with a Asahiflex 37 screw mount camera...

I've had a standard Asahi bellows for over 45 years and have never used it apart from just playing with it when I first bought it.

One day I might find a use for it.

That's okay. I have the Bellows II and the slide copying attachment. I haven't used either.

According Camerapedia the Asahi Bellowscope and Aashi Bellow Unit was made by Kobayashi Seiki (their own brand name Kopil) in M42 mount.
Kobayashi Seiki - Camerapedia - Wikia

"Kobayashi Seiki Seisakusho (小林精器製作所, meaning Kobayashi Precision Works) was a Japanese company, which made cine cameras, bellows and accessories sold under the Kopil brand. It sometimes used a K.S.S logo. "
Bellows units
  • Kopil Folding Bellowscope, single folding rail, in various mounts (shows patent number 472839)
name variants of the Kopil Folding Bellowscope:
  • Alpex Bellox Jr, in various mounts
  • Miranda Bellox Jr, in Miranda bayonet mount
  • Asahi Bellowscope, in 42mm screw mount
  • Asahi Bellows Unit, in 42mm screw mount
  • Asahi Pentax Bellows Unit, in 42mm screw mount
  • Minolta Extension Bellows Model 1, in Minolta SR mount
  • Kopil Bellowsmat, single rail, with movements, in various mounts
  • Kopil Duo-Track Bellowscope, dual rail, in various mounts

This wouldn't be the first time Asahi changed the name and box art on the products.

I have recently acquired the Kopil M42 Bellowsmat. It looks very similarly built and in the same box. Of course it has shift tilt functions on the bellow standards. Suspect it is fairly uncommon.
