Tripod advice.

It depends. The head is not impressive, it's heavy, it has flip levers (some love them, I don't). I think you could do better for better if you waited for rebates. But it will certainly be sturdier than a cheaper tripod. For that price, it's expensive as an aluminum tripod. I think you can do better.

I pulled the trigger and bought a tripod. Adorama matched the price that B&H was getting and I got it from them as I have been doing business with them for many years.All outlets were getting $580 but I got it for $350.It should last me in my declining years.lol--Zap.

44.1 pounds, nice! Too bad that none of the manufactures clearly state at what height the legs are good for the rated weight!
Manfrotto nor Gitzo are not very clear about it, unless I am missing something.
Let us know how the pod works out.
