My latest two carbon fiber tripods are Vanguard. One is an Alta Pro 283 CT. The bigger one is an Auctus Plus 323 CT. I use it for long lenses and my gimbal mounts. Pretty big beast.

They work fine and I have no complaints about them. Sturdy and solid. I got them on sale through B&H and not regretted the purchases. I picked them because i needed a new tripod and the sale prices were just too good to pass up. I have two Vanguard ball heads and they work fine but I am casually looking for a pan and tilt head. I just prefer them and gimbal heads.

I have a Sirui T-025X tripod for travel and subsequently got a Sirui W 2204 and K30x ball head and Lens Master Gimbal Head for the K-1....and Kirk L bracket.

The W 2204 is a water proof carbon fibre that I can highly recomend.... you know .... mid stream long exposure daydream enabler!

I also have and use Sirui Carbon fibre travel tripod T-025X with C-10, i realy like it.
Easy to fold out and pack down
Nice! I've been serious considering that tripod -- it seems to get nice reviews.

My only concern is whether it has sufficient stiffness for pixelshift applications. Some reviews do say that the fifth leg section is pretty thin but might this tripod be rigid enough if only the first 3 or 4 sections are extended?

I use the Sirui T-1205X tripod, with the K-20x ball head. Still lightweight, but more stable than the 005 travel model
I have the Sirui EN-2004 tripod and the Sirui K-20X ballhead. They are great for regular shooting. For lighter needs like air travel and a day hike, I had been looking at the T-025X/C-10 combination, but was interested in being able to buy legs only and using my K-20X ballhead. Then I saw a mention of the T-1205X on Pentax forums. I looked at it and noticed the tripod weight spec (1.8 lbs.) and folded down length (13.4 inches) were comparable to the T-025X (2 lbs., and 12.2 inches folded down), . Plus the T-1205 weight capacity spec is 22 lbs. as opposed to the T-025X weight capacity spec of 13.2 lbs. stated on Amazon. B and H states the T-025X capacity spec as 8.8 lbs.

So, if and when I get an air travel (carry on)/day hike tripod, the T-1205X and its aluminum counterpart T-1005X are going to be considered to partner with my K-20X ballhead. I am sort of leaning toward the T-1205X, but the T-1005X seems to look like a relatively worthy product also.

Thank you for your post. I was curious about the K-20X/T-1205X compatibility.

I'm a huge fan of Induro.
I have the CT414 and it takes my abuse.
Service dept support is insanely good.
