I,m searching for an usb powered type of battery charger for D-Li90 batteries for my pentax K1.
I found this one but I,m not sure about it.

PATONA Synchron USB Charger f. Pentax D Li90 D-Li90 with LCD - Batterijen, accu's, opladers vindt u bij Accubat.nl

My original D-BC90 charger has 3 contacts, just like my original D-Li90 battery. But I only see 2 contacts on the patona charger.

Most 3rd party chargers only have 2 contacts in my experience. The third pin is typically a temperature probe which is used to help the charger know what the state of the battery is. I have read various things about this and most indicate the two pin chargers can shorten battery life over time but they are fine for occasional use.

I wouldn't recommend this as the original charger is specially designed to charge the battery properly. Slowly but surely!

Is there a good way to adapt the original charger for use with USB? My main concern is convenience and portability (while still keeping my batteries safe), rather than speed.

The best option for mobile charging,(get a 12vDC inverter to 110ac for the car) which is what you want or you can just wait till you get back to the house or hotel.

Does 110ac fit into a laptop?

See, I want a backup to my batteries when doing long exposures. I guess I could haul a huge battery/generator on my back since I already have a K-1 dc cable, but... I'm hiking here.

I bought this one, works fine so far & very convenient. I hope to try using my double solar panel to see if it can sufficiently charge using this.. once the sun gets strong again.

I need the possibility to charge my battery with a powerbank when I,m in the field. That's my main purpose. Or in the car when I,m on the way to another location.
Less important is that It shortens the lifespan of the battery. I,ve seen "good" non-branded batteries for less than $20

I think I will give it a try

with this
https://www.amazon.com/Powerextra-Pentax-Replacement-Battery-Charger/dp/B00S...+charger&psc=1
you might be able to hook up an anker battery that offers 12V output as well. conversion obviously takes place in the charger, since it also can use the car voltage.
one example is here:
https://www.amazon.com/XTPower-MP-10000-External-10000mAh-included/dp/B00935...ery+12V+output
I believe they also have larger (20000mAh) units. this should last a few battery chargers (about 2000mAh)

Looks like it's also missing that third 'safety pin', as all the other third-party chargers have so far, in this thread.

Carrying extra batteries for long trips would probably be the best solution, IMO.
