Wondering if you could help me with this.

I'm looking for a Pentax hard case for the 50mm 1.4.

I've been searching for one to buy on the web, but all I have found are the generic ones, with only "Pentax" engraved on the top. I'm looking for the ones that have "SMC Pentax 1.4/50". Haven't found anything on the 50 1.8 or the 50 1.2 also.

Both the 1975 lens brochure or the October 1976 price list indicate they were sold

Could anyone post pictures of them so I can know they are real? Maybe someone is interested in selling me one

Yes these hard lens cases for the K Series 50-55mm "normal's" do exist, but are very rare. I have only seen one, a member on the forum got a K50/1.2 with the hard lens case. (Check the Film SLR Gear P0rn thread for pictures)

I use the newer soft case Pentax S70-70 or the period correct soft cases shown in the about picture.

Check out the condition of the leather and foam case before you pop your lens in it. If it has not been stored right it can harbour damp, and that is just what the pesky fungus spores need to spring into life and eat your lens.

Get an aluminium flight case with pop out foam, and store your lenses in those. Make sure you throw plenty of silica gel bags in with them too.

If you move fast, it looks like there is one of those cases posted on the Kijiji web site here in Calgary.

Go to Calgary dot Kijiji dot ca, search for Pentax, it will be one of the very first ads to come up.

It looks like the ad is still there. Its not in the camera section. Try just entering Pentax as your search under the main Buy and Sell heading, or searching the ad id number 1246215184 and see what comes up.

Oh yeah, I see it, but that's not the case

The ones we were talking about have "SMC Pentax 1.x/50" engraved on top, and their finish should be grainier.

No, that looks like smooth leather to me. It seems that is an "all around" case from the 80's.

Actually I have a picture of what I'm looking for.

Go to Calgary dot Kijiji dot ca, search for Pentax, it will be one of the very first ads to come up.
