Filter Options for Pentax-D FA 15-30mm F2.8

First of all thanks to everyone who suggested me flash options for K-1.

As I like to photograph architectural interiors, I need an ultra wide angle in my bag. I used Tokina 11-16 on my Nikon D7200 and think Pentax-D FA 15-30mm F2.8 will be a good option for K-1. I am aware that it requires specialized filter system like WonderPana Essentials (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FBG8IRK/ref=as_li_tl?tag=pentaxforums-2...f2292ff731487f) which is quite expensive.

Are there any cheaper options ($100~ $150) available?

Anything compatible with Tamron 15-30 should work. B&H has these options 15-30 filter | B&H Photo Video

Holder alone is $100 to $150 before adding filters.

Which specific filters do you want for indoor architecture? ND to blur people in public spaces? I dont imagine a graduated ND or CPL have a role but welcome correction.

As DeadJohn has said, a search for filters that fit the Tamron 15-30 will pop up all the options like Nisi, Haida, Lee, Wonder Pana etc.

There are discussions on some of the options here: Pentax D FA 15-30mm filter system - PentaxForums.com and as this is a regularly asked question around here you're likely to find several more threads discussing filters for the 15-30 by doing a forum search.

As price is a concern, hopefully you're after only one or two filters for that lens as the mount is not necessarily the largest part of the expense when looking at most of the options. As per this Australian site: NiSi 150mm Filter Holder For Tamron 15-30mm - NiSi Filters Australia The mount is less than any of the grad filters shown at the bottom of the webpage. A cheaper option might be the Haida filter sets, the mount and the filters seem to be cheaper, here again is an Australian webpage price list as an example: Lens Filters

I'd ask that once you've made your choice and had the chance to use whichever filter set you opt for, that you add a post in the 15-30 lens club here: HD Pentax D FA 1:2.8 15-30mm ED SDM WR lens club! - PentaxForums.com. Alternatively you could add a review in the accessories section of the forum.

Good luck with whichever way you go.

Personally, I never feel the need for filters on an ultrawide. ND in bright sunlight would be the only counterexample. Are you sure that what you're after can't be done in post-processing?

I've looked into filter holders that also support circular filters. Something like this might work if you already have large enough filters:

Vu Filters VFH100 100mm Professional Filter Holder VFH100 B&H

I think you'll find the 100mm filter is too small but Vu do make a 150mm version for the 15-30: Vu Filters 150mm Professional Filter Holder Lens Ring VFHLRT1

:/ I was kinda hoping for a way to use my 77mm filters. Maybe they'd vignette too much, but...ugh, all of my filters are 77mm.

Thanks everyone for inputs. I think for now I should be fine without filters. After few field work if I see that this lens is useful in landscape photography then may be I will go for filters.

On the 15-30mm? No way. You're going to have to use 105mm circular filters via adaptor.

Hoya doesn't even make Infrared filters that big. I'd be shelling out 300-400 dollars just for a filter.
