O-RC1 Remote

I was thinking of buying one of these but the reviews say the battery can't be replaced. Seems like it would be a good tool in that it controls other functions.
is there another brand that has the same or better functions that would work with my K3?

I don't have this one, but I have the remote control F, which also says you cannot change the battery. You can actually change the battery quite easily. However, my preferred remote is the RC-4 that can be had for a song on ebay. It has a longer range and is larger, easier to find in the pocket.

I've had one for years and it's going strong still.

I use the following wired remote with my K-5IIs and K-3II. Since it plugs into the camera, it does not use a battery of its own. It derives its power from the camera battery, not being much. So it is not wireless, but does a great job. A shortcut to the product is below.

I am using cheap ebay (2$) remote like this one.
I think I got this one like 2 years ago use with K-5 and now K3. never have to change battery!
If you have Flucard, you can also control thing via your phone or tablet.

I ordered two O-RC1 units from Amazon for $25 each - 3 years ago for use with a K-5II. Still using the first one, haven't opened the package on the second yet. Great remotes. Worth the money.

The user manual that comes with the O-RC1 says that the battery isn't user replaceable. However, the supposed for tens of thousands of shutter actuations, so replacing it might never be an issue. Some people have replaced the battery in their O-RC1 units and posted their procedure somewhere on PentaxForums. There seemed be two issues: 1) the rubber weather seal, and 2) some sort of adhesive or caulking holding the battery in place.

Just ordered the O-RC1 from Amazon.
I have to say that the RS-C11 wired remote looks good too. Might get one later.
Thanks everyone!
