Rectangular filters are almost essential for ND grads, but can have issues with dark ND filters due to light getting to the back of the filters through the filter mount.

I certainly prefer screw on filters for dark filters. If you're just wanting to experiment you could try shade 8 welding glass instead of a 10 stop. Its only a couple of bucks & will usually fit in a Cokin P holder (but can also be held in place by various DIY methods, such as gaffer tape, elastic bands, etc).
Color cast (severe green) & optical quality won't be great, but the results can still be impressive, after a little processing.
Welding glass strength is quoted in 'shades' which work out roughly:
Shade 8 = 10 Stops
Shade 9 = 11 Stops
Shade 10 = 12 Stops
Shade 13 = 17 Stops
Shade 14 = 18 Stops

[snip] Also, Breakthrough Technology should be checked out, and I don't know the status of it, but they had a combination CPL and ND filter in the works, and I think they did sizing up to the 100mm range, so that would be something to check out too. I looked at them for the 15-30, but they didn't have anything that worked. Hope that changes at some point. [snip]
Need to update/correct my prior post. On further checking, Breakthrough Technology does have a 150mm square CPL, and that should work with the Fotodiox Wonderpana system I reference that fits the D FA 15-30.

It probably depends on the holder. Have you identified a system that fits your lens? What is the lens?
