Right angle viewfinder from K1000 on digital DSLR

Hi,

Quick question... Will a right angle viewfinder from a film era K1000 work on a recent DSLR like the K5 or K3?

I'm not 100% on this, but I think the M (think MX) series eyepiece accessories fit, but not the K series.

This one should work, I've used it a bit but I greatly prefer today's tilting screens for live view:

I'm not 100% on this, but I think the M (think MX) series eyepiece accessories fit, but not the K series.

The Refconverter M and A will fit on the K1000 but not snugly. The M and A Refconverters will fit on DSLRs. The Refconverter A is the preferred model as the view will cover the OVF displays at the 1× setting.

The earlier Refconverters will not fit on MX or later film cameras or DSLRs without modification - the clip is too small.

I used a Dremel tool to grind the eyepiece on my K model to fit. Works like a charm, looks as if it fully covers the K-3 viewfinder and you get used to the flipped view quickly, so if a bargain is available compared to the M and A versions, I'd go for it.

From the vintage it looks like K1000 or other K models with the adapter. In which case you would have to modify the adapter to fit M models and later cameras including DSLRs. It may not cover the entire viewfinder and the image may be flipped/reversed having only a mirror and not a prism.
