Hi,
I saw relatively cheap, good looking (I mean in good condition) AF280T flashgun.
How would it work with K100D. I assume that it would be fully manual right? So I'd have to set ISO, f stop, distance... even focal length? Can anybody shed any light on it for me?

Hi Peter,

The AF280T will not work in TTL mode with the K10D because that camera has P-TTL which is not compatible with the AF280T. If the K100D has P-TTL the AF280T will only work in autoflashmode, i.e. not TTL.

You need to check your manual.

Just set to one of the auto modes on the flash. Your camera (in most modes) should automatically set the shutter speed. If using an A-series or later lens it should even set the aperture for you, again depending on the camera mode selected.

I use my af280t with my body in manual mode. Aperture at around f4 when the flash is set on red manual, or around f6~ when on green manual. If the exposure is not correct, I open up or stop down the aperture accordingly.
