Ruggard Neprene Lens cases

Hello,

Just thought I would offer some feedback on this Ruggard lens case

I was looking to free up some space in my camera bag and one thing Pentax lens cases are, are bulky.

That's not a bad thing, but I needed more room in the bag.

I found the Ruggard Neoprene lens cases through B&H. Bought one, liked it, and bought a bunch more.

I'm happy to say their LPN-F25X30 fits most of my small Pentax lens collection,

DA 15mm F/4 ED Lens, DA 21mm f/3.2 Lens, DA 35mm f/2.4 AL Lens, DA 50mm f/1.8 Lens, DA 70mm f/2.4 Lens

The white tag is not part of the case, I had a local tailor add that on. That's my only issue with the cases, there is no exterior tag

to identify what lens is in the case. Nothing sticks to Neoprene, so a sew on label was my only option. That aside I would recommend

the product to anybody looking to free up more space in their camera bags.

.
Agree completely! Neoprene cases are the best for lenses. They afford the best protection against drops. They are waterproof. It's all I use on my better lenses.

FWIW, fabric paint works well on neoprene. I use 3d or dimensional fabric paint since it's easy to write with the applicator tip, and only needs one coat. It's rubbery so it doesn't crack or peel.

OP/TECH USA makes similar neoprene lens cases (in Belgrade, Montana).

there Is a review for this Optech product: Op/Tech Snoot Boot

Op/Tech Snoot Boot reviews - Pentax Camera Accessory Review Database

it is drawn shut by a draw string and has a belt loop and snap hook

I am not sure if it is what pete-tarmigan makes reference to or not?

the review is in a different section of the " Accessories " section of the forum:

Pentax Accessory Reviews » Other Camera Accessories » Miscellaneous

while the review for the Ruggard is in this section:

Pentax Accessory Reviews » Bags and Cases » Lens Cases

I found at Wal Mart a fabric painter's pen -

Painters Opaque Paint Markers Yellow

Painters Opaque Paint Markers Yellow. The permanent marker with medium nib is easy to use and fast drying. This streak-free & non-toxic product conforms to ASTM D4236.
Elmer's Painters Yellow Paint Marker, Medium Tip:

If you have tested it and it works, that good. The fabric store I went to said none of their fabric pens would work on neoprene, that's why I used the sew-on labels. Thanks for the update.

It's a misunderstanding based on a technicality. The lens cases are not actually pure neoprene, they're fabric covered neoprene like mouse pads. The fabric paint adheres to the fabric that covers the neoprene.
