Just checked the battery that came with my K-01 a few years ago - which was used, but I'll assume genuine. (At least, it has been a good reliable battery.) It says HOYA CORPORATION, correctly spelled.

Also I notice that on the upper label of my K-01 battery, the voltage spec line "7.2V [DC symbol] 1860 mAh (14 Wh)" is rendered in a bold font. This is also true of the battery that came with my K-1ii earlier this year. The line is not bold on the ebay battery.

Finally a more subtle difference: notice the line on the new ebay battery: "Cell made in Japan,Pack assembled in China". The words "Japan" and "Pack" have no space between them, rather they are both jammed up against the comma. My K-01 battery has space between those words.

I'm confident these batteries are counterfeits.

I have what you mention Docrwm and it is false, or the original has been lagging behind in the warehouse since the beginning of the K7 ,i'm loaded on the original charger, has a capacity of approx. 70% of the original, on ebay paid about $ 13.

I got them for about $20 each.

I had a Hähnel battery for my K-30 which over time, expanded to the point where it wouldn't come out of the battery slot anymore. I had to pry it out with a small flat head screwdriver.
I won't be doing that again.
