Tenba BYOB 7 as insert bag for KP and DA limited lens?

Hi,

I'm interested in a structured insert for a Tom Bihn Co Pilot bag and I'm looking for something as small as possible that would also be nice enough to serve as storage when I'm home. Has anyone tried this combo? I feel like the BYOB 9 is a bit large for the Co Pilot. I did see a video online with someone using a X-T1 which is just a bit smaller.

I would only be carrying the body and a DA limited lens, probably 35, 70 or 15.

Also feel free to recommend any alternative you like.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I have a byob 9 and it can fit the k-3ii and lenses such as the following (one lens attached to the camera):
* two zooms - DA 16-85 and 55-300 plm
* four small primes - DA 15, 21, 40 and 70
* some combination of DFA 100 wr macro and two of the limited primes, or one of the zooms
I have one of the large dividers 2/3rd way in and at an angle, this lets me put the camera on its side (screen against the side, lens going lengthwise), then under the divider there's enough room for a lens. Add one or two small dividers and two more lenses fit in the remaining space, or no dividers it you're using larger lenses. The insert is soft enough to allow stuff that sticks out to not require a wider bag, namely the pentaprism housing.

KP plus 2-3 small primes sounds reasonable to me, but this is just judging by spec sheets, I haven't seen the 7 irl.

Thanks! I think in my quest to find the very smallest thing that will work I am going to try the Ape Case Cubeze 33 but it's good to know it should fit if I change my mind.

I'd be interested to know how it works out. I'd be interested in getting an insert that might fit my KP with DA* 16-50 and 55-300PLM

Well, I'm going to buy the Tom Bihn bag as a reward for getting through a really annoying audit at work and, well, the audit is ongoing . But when I do I'll update here.

I ended up getting the Cubeze 33 for when I eventually get the new bag. While I intend to use this mainly with Limited primes, I tried it with my trusty 16-45 F4 and my quite large Tamron 90mm Macro prime. Everything fits snugly (16-45 on the camera, Tamron to one side) but there's not much room for anything else. Anyway, the 33 is more than enough bag to carry a camera body and 1-2 lenses if the camera is the KP.

And the lenses you mentioned are roughly the same size, so you should be good. The only tricky thing might be lens hoods.
