Got one (682B). Good, sturdy, tallish. Not a lightweight though.

I've got the Gitzo GM2560T. It's light, sturdy...perfect.

so are the legs are sturdy enough to keep itself upright
will it also stand on a slightly uneven ground
i always looked at this model and its not a comberson as a tripod, but looks like one

Woops, sorry, mine's a 680B! Checked when I got home.

I did look at one of those with the legs though, be aware that the height they quote for that is with the 3 legs out, which lifts it up a bit, so lower when used as a monopod.

From memory the legs weren't too bad, not sure I'd walk away with my camera on it though. Sorry, I think you may have to go and check it out in a store.

would love to check it out at a store, unfortunately the clossest one is 5000 miles away and only possible by air,
so i am really looking to get a feed back, on its sturdiness, as far as mounting the the camera and taking night shots and long exposures.
always liked this particular model, as its like a semi tripod, but not as big,
