That's a nice walkaround tripod; does it come with a ladder?

Foba with 80cm column and x-times extension does the same. Fit cross beams for stability. Also costly.

She actually did use a Step stool at times to get everything in the forefront nice and sharp with certain lenses !

Wellll .... the Gitzo Systematic series 5 Giant goes to 9 feet 1 inches and costs north of a thousand pounds – no centre column, though. Weight is a more reasonable 3.5kg

Think you robbed her...

These long legs are very handy... if you need to put the tripod up on steep slopes or stairs.

Since the invention of drones these tripods have gone out of fashion.
Well, the tripod stays in place for more than 20 minutes, and can bear heavy equipment. Plus the best drone is not as stable as this. Except those in Spiderman Far From Home

A lot of tv news crews used those old Gitzo 500 series tripods back in the day. They were extremely heavy, but were built like tanks! You still see them pop up for sale for pretty cheap every now and then. Seeing that old tripod makes me glad we're shooting with mirrorless cameras these days.

Nice, Pick-up, you won't be disappointed, the Gitzo tripods are excellent, old or new.

Why so tall, some have asked, well, you can't always be on flat ground, and to be in certain vantage points, on quite steep or rocky ground, you can extend a leg or two down far enough to be level and safe. even on the steepest of slope ( Important with big lenses).

I have been at a sporting event, (surf contest) where there are heaps of people who will just stand directly infront of you on rocks and block you, even though you are already set up there, and some times you know the area will be already crowded at the front, from what happened the previous day, so the next day I came prepared. I set up just behind the crowd with the Gitzo pretty much fully extended, and used a 2.5 ft aluminium work bench to stand on, which gave me space to move around a bit, and just shot directly over the crowds heads, It drew some attention..
