I don't know if you really need to stop that lens down to f/8. I would start by shooting wide open for 10 or so seconds at ISO 1600 and 16mm (you won't need astro tracer for that) and then stop the lens down 1/3 stop and repeat until you get to f/8. then go and do some pixel peeping and see at which point the stars become nice and sharp with no halos. Manually focus the lens in magnified live view and get the stars as small as possible first so your focus is as close to correct as you can get.

At 16mm you shoudn't have any problem doing the max astrotracer time of 5 minutes and getting sharp stars in the middle. The corners and edges will show trailing but that is a function of using an ultrawide. To avoid trailing with this lens use the rule of 200 which is divide 200 by the focal length to get the maximum time in seconds you can use. At 16mm this would put you at about 12 seconds.

As far as your image goes it looks like there is potential and I'm not sure what editing you did but the color got squashed and the background is really too black. Now that I have developed some more competency at editing astro images I really should write that beginners guide to astro image editing I've wanted to but never felt capable enough to. It takes time to develop those skills and there are some very helpful and knowledgeable people here. Keep in mind stacking is your friend with these images as it is a way to drive down the noise and gather more of those sparse photons..
