Your wrapping of that lens is professional, plus! Don't think I'd ever be able to do half the job that is!

Ian, are these rolls self sticking; or do you need to use something to make them adhere?

Thats just amazing. I'd be scared stiff of rolling the Kayak though,
Not really and if I kill the camera it was at least in the use of photography.

but I'd imagine that you have been able to get some very cool shots with that set up.

I like it for the ability to get into places with relative ease

Most of the time there is no one around when I am out photographing

Ian, you're making me want to get out into the wetlands in my canoe with my K-50 and A-400 mounted on the yoke... though not right now obviously, a bit of ice...

They have their own adhesive that will not leave any residue after removal, I have taken off the wraps on riflescopes after a few years use without any residue. I don't like using the cling wrap that is basically the latex medical wrap but in camo print as that latex can break down and leave the lens body sticky .

When I apply the wrap I do so on a hot day to form it to the lens barrel rather than using a heatgun

Many of the lens that are used outdoors or carry around I have wrapped

Most of the time all I use is scissors to cut the wrap into shape and a blade to trim off the extra. before applying make sure that any grease is removed for the surface you are going to apply the wrap too.

It is indeed for use on a kayak, its spring loaded such that it remains locked in either the upright and lower positions

Use it in rivers and lakes all over the place
That's clever !

Just so you know that I have found an easier way to wrap your lens. Knifeless cutting

It make it sooooo much easier to wrap a lens and you can also do seamless joints well worth the little you pay for the tape
