Mystery Vignette Tool for Takumar ?

Hi All -
Does anyone know if this lens attachment was produced by Asahi / Takumar, or any other brand? Note that the Hoya name is on an adapter ring that is too tight for me to take off by hand (and I don't want to mark it up).

I think it is a vignette tool but I'm not positive. I took a few pics as if that was it's purpose, and the results seem to support "vignette tool":

the 49-55 is a step-up ring, probably detachable from the other part

Interesting. I don't think it's a vignetting tool, but I'm really not sure what it is... I'm leaning toward thinking it's a hood for some sort of macro lens, but that's just a wild guess...

My first guess is a snoot for a round flash. My second guess is an adapter for a microscope.

My guess is it is a lens hood for a long lens.

Never heard of a “vignette tool” before... sounds interesting. But the macro lens hood is probably the best guess. This weird coney ended front does cut much of the peripheral light, if we referred to normal lenses at least.
