BG2 battery grip

good day to you all, i am once agaig in need of your assistance.
with one battery in camera and one in the grip, and menu set at grip first.
I assume the power would be drained from the battery in the grip first,
1- is the power then transfered automatically to the battery in the camera after the grip battery is exhausted ?
2- do you get some kind of notice or warning signal that the power is now coming from the camera battery?
3- do you only find out when both batteries are dead ?

I use the same set-up, but rarely get to the point where the grip dies and goes to the camera, but the few times it has, it gives a low (empty) battery warning before switching over to the in camera battery, it not a significant warning, easily missed IMHO.

Same here

But when the grip battery runs out the camera shuts down for me. I have to turn it off and then back on for the body battery to function. It doesn't seem automatic in my case. Any others?

Actually now that I think about it I had to "reboot" as well.

When the currently selected battery runs out as a result of the check, Battery
depleted] appears on the monitor. Turn the camera off and on again, and the
camera will switch to the remaining battery.

from the K20D Manual

What does happen from time to time, though, is that if you turn the camer off for a time after that, the little bit of juice left in the grip battery is just enough to power it back on for a short period of time, causing you to have to repeat the process again (the reverse is also true if set to Body First). Depending on what/when/where/how I'm shooting, I'll sometimes jump into the menu and then set it to either Both or Body First. Taking the battery out of the grip would also work.
