Two Teleconverters: Kenko P-AF 2x vs Sigma 2x EX DG

I have a Sigma 1.4x TC but I've looking at getting a 2x as well. I've tried 2x's in the past but they've all been the very cheap, $10 TC that are really wastes of money. From what I've read, these two, the Kenko and Sigma are pretty good for 2x TC but how do they compare. I can get the Kenko more easily and for less money but does that also come along with more IQ loss than the Sigma?

The sigma TC is only useable on a very small number of fast tele lenses and fast zooms because it has a protruding front element.

To use it you need a lens that has a 35mm diameter 14 mm deep recess at the rear of the lens at all times.

It is also a screw drive only TC.

I've got both the Sigma EX and the Kenko Pz-AF 2x … optically they're much of a muchness, but as noted above, the Sigma is limited to which lenses it'll match with. As with all 2x teleconverters, the effective loss of two stops of light will restrict which lenses will reliably autofocus. My 70-200mm f/2.8 is no problem but my 150-500mm f5-6.3 can struggle with only a 1.5x adaptor fitted, let alone a 2x

Also, if it's of any consideration, not all converters will power a lens with a built-in focus motor and not all lenses have an a/f screw-drive
