Underwater housing for K50

Going to Hawaii for the first time and want to try my hand at underwater photography. Can anyone recommend an underwater camera housing for my K-50? Obviously looking for something that will keep my investment safe and allow me to take the best pictures my skills permit.

Thanks in advance for your insight and suggestions!!

I don't think there was one for the K50. For about the same price, you are probably better off getting a water proof compact.

As said, there is no, actually housing for the K-50, there is one out there for the K-3 , it costs about $1000.00.

You can look at something like this
Dicapac WP-S10 SLR Waterproof Underwater Case (GA WPS10)

I haven't used one, but have thought about for kayaking ect ...

I was in the same situation a few years ago. After not seeing any quality or economical options I ended up buying a little action camera for video (similar to a go-pro) and I was very happy with it. I prefer photos to videos but I feel videos allowed me to enjoy the experience more.

I think Kozlok has the best suggestion for you. When my son and daughter-in-law went on a cruise a few years ago they bought a waterproof P&S for that purpose. It was more economical than buying a waterproof enclosure for their Nikon. They got some very nice underwater photos and still use the P&S for other photography.

For some unknown reason Pentax is the red-headed step-child in the world of underwater housings. Almost every other make gets a new housing for almost every model they market but Pentax gets nothing. Check out specialist sites like UwP, Your FREE underwater photography magazine and you will see that anything Sony, Canon, Nikon, Fuji, Olympus, Panasonic etc. makes gets a housing but Pentax? nix.

They don't make a housing specific to the K-50 but should have a solution for your intended use and camera. EWA-Marine has been around since 1969. I've used their rain capes and can recommend those products.

Find an ewa-marine underwater housing for your SLR, lens and application
