K3 mkiii cable release

wonder if any members know.

Which of the Cable release does the K3 mkiii use?

CS-205?
(This the one for K-1)

Or CS-310?
(This the one for K70 and KP)

The KP and the K-70 are the only models that have the dual-purpose fitting. All other Pentax dSLR models that support wired release (at least since the K10D) use the same cable release, so the CS-205 as well as a plethora of others should work fine.

Thanks guys.

On using phone as a remote.

Absolutely dislike that.
Using a cable release just so much more convenient.

understand,
just covering all the bases out there,
I'm not sure I'm thrilled with it either, but I've set it up, and played a bit,
has potential, can allow you to be truly remote from the camera, and yet see what it sees before you push the button.
The app also makes moving images from the camera to your phone easy,
but is it truly useful? to be seen....

Just for info … the CS-205 goes back (at least) to the *ist film camera … mine's back out of the cupboard and in use again
The same fitting and electrical connections were(are?) used on many Canon dslr's, so if buying from scratch and can't find a Pentax-original unit, a release quoted as suitable for a Canon, with a 2.5mm 3-contact jack, should be perfectly fine.

Have a look here in the Accessories Area. I wrote my „impressions“ about the Impulsefoto SMDV. A very nice cable remote controller.

Also have a very simple Canon E3 cable remote that I bought for use with my Canon Powershot G10 many many years ago. Also works with my Pentax DSLRs. Another option that I own is an Ayex with interval options like the SMDV. But I very much prefer the latter.
