This is how you got oscilloscope shots before Polaroid made an adapter. After that, if you wanted a shot of your 'scope data, you took a polaroid. Instant gratification. I could probably find a few of my own if I went looking!

Nowadays, the 'scopes are all digital, and you "capture" a screen dump of your data. (See my various flash duration data posts (e.g. Flash Duration Measurements for K3D Pop-up Flash - PentaxForums.com)

Something strange I got recently, an Asahi Pentax Oscilloscope Adapter from the M42 Era. it has a bayonet at the scope end, and a detachable mount at the front which you screw a 50, 55, or 58mm lens into, screw into the camera.
It is very cool. In my copy of the S2 user manual, japanese version, a picture of this is shown as an accessory. I would love to have this one, or the smaller version in my collection but I think most of them have been thrown out over the years.

I don't see any mention of it in an English version of any S1, S2, or S3 manuals, so I would guess that it is a Japan market item only. I don't have any Japanese language manuals of this vintage, do they have any pictures of other accessories that don't exist in the English manuals?

Can it be used/adapted for any other purpose?
Slide duplication comes to mind.

I am ordering one of these handouts from japan, so soon I will put up scans of what is in it. I expect that I can coax some OCR to translate the text to English

I actually used one of those with my Spotmatic F back in the mid-70s, to record traces from a Tektronix oscilloscope while working on my doctoral thesis in engineering. Neat find!
I used one with 120 roll film pack and a 75mm Graflex lens shutter combo. Switched to Polaroids by the early 1980s.
