Just chipping in here. I use cactus V4s.
They can trigger an old 2 pin manual flash at 1/180 every time.
With the sigma 530 DG super for pentax they sync late at 1/180, but will work at 1/125

A solution for now is to fire the old flash by triggers, and use the 530 on optical slave. In this setup it can all work within 1/180. Is there some circuitry, technology or problem which is putting a slight delay on the 530 when fired by shoe? i dont get it...

I got my answer. Its the lower voltages of the pentax system, which creates a delay in the cactus shoe system. Will keep testing different modes and configurations.

I have the Cactus wireless trigger and a V2 and V2s receiver to use with my K10D. They were bought from Gadge Infinity, but I believe they are similar to the ebay poverty wizards others are using.

The V2 receiver works on an old flash with ~200V trigger voltage withough any problems up to 1/180th.
The V2s receiver works for my AF-360FGZ, also up to 1/180th without any problems.
Note the difference. The V2 will not trigger a flash with a voltage <12V.
