If you held a gun to my head and told me to list all my accessories or die, the M42 adapter would be responsible for my death. It is so permanently mounted that it never would have crossed my mind to think of it as an accessory.

Since "tripod" has been ruled out as being a necessity rather than an accessory, I would have to say my most universally used and useful photographic accessory is my left front pants pocket.

One of the most useful accessories I carry is the Lally Cap. After seeing the ad in back of PopPhoto for MONTHS and wondering about it, I decided to go ahead and order one. Am I GLAD I did. Works great for white balance.

And the Lumedyne Tinycycler. Can't say enough good things about it.

I think for me, it'd be a tossup between Optech Hood Hats and some Domke inserts I use in random bags

Since I recently added a 400mm to the collection I have been using the Cable switch along with the K10. For you old film guys it is like a cable release. I find I prefer it to the remote release working with the longer lenses. A very handy accessory IMO.

Your most useful Accessory

My camera's hand/wrist strap, a feeling of security & safety when moving through a busy crowd.

My most used accessory?

The camera...must be my most used accessory to my lenses.

Just a different perspective

I'll jump in where angels fear to tread and say my most useful accessory today is my newest acquisition - the LL-60 focusing screen. My two M lenses - next to the 16-50 they are on the camera the most - were somewhat of a pain to set exposure with until I got it. Now they work just as well as the new ones. Yay!!!

I'd have to say my trek pod. Good monopod and an excellent hiking staff. Helps mightily in getting these 60yr old knees over stone walls, fallen trees, up and down water barred trails and the like. And so well disguised as a walking staff that I've been able to bring it into spots where monopods are not allowed.
