memory card readers; which one?

I just returned the Belkin reader from the Apple store; it did not read some of my cards

has anyone had this issue; is there a reader with no issues?

There's always going to be newer types of cards, and while it's theoretically possible that these things could have updateable firmware so they could be kept current, it's not generally worth the bother (or added cost). I've got a Sandisk one that works great — but it's the model before SDHC support, so once I get some SDHC cards, I'll have to upgrade.

I have tried several over the years, the one I settled on due to ZERO problems is the Sandisk Extreme Reader USB

I have one of those no-name 32-in-1 memory card readers (or however many it is)... the difference though is that its the one with 3 built-in usb ports in it. The only issue was that it couldn't read SDHC cards, but problem solved - the Extreme III's come with a reader, so, I stuck it onto one of the ports and done! A perfect card reader...

Appears Sandisk no longer offers this reader in SD or dual CF/SD. Have checked link & official site no longer listed.

Does anyone have links to other readers, as I'm having the same problems finding a suitable reader.

I have this one, and I like it, I just leave it plugged into my PC at all times, it sits on my desk, and is always ready to go..It reads several different types of cards, including SDHC..

For SDHC only, I recommend Sandisk Micromate.

No longer stocked at B&H last time I looked though. Best HD Reader around.
