Tripod with removable legs to make Bipod/Monopod?

Hi all,

Does anyone know if there are any tripods available where one or more of the legs can be relatively easily removed (and re-attached) to quickly effect a bipod or monopod arrangement whilst on the go?

Thanks in advance,
Percy.

Hi Percy,

There are two that immediately come to mind.

The Cullman Magic

Cullmann | Magic 2 Tripod | CU 2722 | B&H Photo Video

and this Amvona

There are probably others, but I can't think of them.

This is a not bad option according to a couple of reports ; Trek-Tech
The XL is new I think because I haven't seen it before.

Monopods are light but a decent tripod is going to be heavier regardless of how lightweight the materials used. I think the best option is one of each. After all a tripod is actually a camera platform and you have usually planned your shots if you are going to be using it. I consider a monopod as a dual purpose tool that is there if it's needed.

Ta, I've actually already got cheapos of each, but my old tripod is a tad on the flimsy side and my monopod is actually too heavy so it hardly gets any use.

I was mainly wondering about the removable leg thing because on at least one occasion i've really wanted a bipod, and it would be really convenient to just own and lug one unit if it could do the job.
I suppose I could probably actually achieve most of what I want with a half decent tripod that can adjust the leg angles independently... might have another look around.

I have a friend with a Tiltall-branded thing: (Adorama had em on sale last year: don't know if they still have any) it's a substantial tripod where one of the legs happens to unscrew to make a stout&simple monopod.
