Canon Speedlite on ME Super

A bit of a long shot but does anyone know if my Canon 430EX II would work on my ME Super?

Thanks in advance.

Unlikely, as you say. But remotely possible, as the ME Super just has the one contact for a dedicated flash. I suspect that if that speedlite works OK as a plain old auto flash unit, then you could probably cover that extra contact on the ME Super with a bit of electrical tape and be safe enough?

I've never looked into it, myself, ...as a Canon FD shooter, I never paid much attention to dedicated flash, anyway. (I never thought Canon's system from back then really actually did anything of much use, until they *finally* put a TTL system in the T90, and I never did get hold of one)
