Hemispheres of such rubber are available for use as audio instrument feet at SORBOTHANE HEMISPHERE 3/4" VIBRATION ISOLATION FEET 50D - eBay (item 250243360874 end time Apr-25-09 23:37:07 PDT)
Such feet might be very useful to decouple a tripod from a vibrating steel deck.

I just ordered some for myself.....
Did this work out? Do you have any issues keeping the tripod on the half hemispheres?

Thank you
Russell

replacing the tripod feet with the shock pads should be easy.

but I have not figured out how to do a test. I put one pad on the base of a monopod & will experiment with that; maybe on a surface of an idling automobile.

Just a thought -

I have battled vibration quite a bit with my long lens'.

Use two dissimilar materials.

In other words a half inch of wood laminated to a half inch of rubber is more effective, generally, than 1 inch of either material used exclusively.

Could you post a photo, please? I'm just not seeing how it will attach to feet or replace them.

Thank you
Russell
