This Kata 3N1-30 actually is pretty big and before I bought it, I compared it side by side with Lowepro Slingshot 300 at the store.
They both pretty much have the same volume capacity. If you know what kind of equipment that you need to fit in this bag that you know fits in Slingshot, I'll try for you to see if it will fit or not.
Yes, Slingshot has better access for the gears because you can flip open the lower flap completely while Kata can't.
But Kata is more versatile since you can use it regardless you're right or left handed.
Slingshot can only open on one side. 3N1 can open both sides, you just need to rearrange the dividers accordingly.
Also for a bag at this size, I found Kata's strap that can be adjusted to any mode (slingshot/backpack/cross) is invaluable. With those heavy gears in my Kata, slingshot works fine for short walk. But for long walk, I need the regular backpack mode.
This can't be done with Slingshot. That's why I bought Kata.
