I use it for nearly everything, but mostly bicycle parts especially chains. But I have also used it to clean my wife's jewelery and other small parts that I did not want to rub with a rag or sponge.

I also think static is a lot of the problem. The problem is to do any of these things without scratching the matte surface. It is extremely delicate. The product worked quite well other than being dirty, and I am mulling another $35 try.
