Photo of My CyberSync Set Up

This set up is for outdoor shooting. The receiver is Velcro attached to the flash (I'm using a Metz 54MZ-4i here, but have the Pentax AF360 FGZ also).

CyberSync transmitter and receiver, Batteries, 2 small tripods, flash unit, small Photoflex LiteDisk fit into a Think Tank Skin 75 Pop Down Case which rides on my belt.

Most of the time the flash will be held in my left hand for ease of operation. The A setting is pretty good, also shot manual at 1/128 to 1/250 power setting which gave a nice pop to the images.

Pretty cool little set up. I have played around all morning using manual, AV, etc and have not had a failure (once I learned from yesterday :-)

Looks fine, however you may run into trouble attaching snoots, gobos and other modifiers with the receiver attached that way.

I velcro'd my receivers to the side of the flashes -- that way they aren't getting in the way of gels and such.

Keep shutter speed at 1/180th or below and the flash will fire regardless of exposure. Underexposing and using the flash to compensate is the only way I know to use an off-camera flash in Av mode.

Personally, I think it's much easier to shoot in M mode when working with off-camera strobes.

On AV I reduce the EV buy a stop or so if need be.

On manual I cut my power when using the Metz by 1/64 to 1/250 (when shooting within a couple of feet). I just set my aperture to where I want it, the shutter for available light and go from there, it takes a second or so to get it right. I'm now using a Joby SLR Zoom tripod and it is great. I'll send another pic later today. I have also changed the CyberSync position on the flash.

I'm just starting to use flash outdoors and it is very cool.

M mode is the way to go. Your strobe is on manual anyway.

New and Revised Set Up !

Here is my revamped set up, much better. I have the receiver on the side, the Joby tripod is AWSOME and the Monfrotto small head makes this whole system work better.

Great looking setup. I am hoping to have a CyberSync Setup someday. I am using the Cactus version right now. Thanks for posting your pics.
