Albinar 924AF - Well I'll be a monkey's uncle!

So I've had my $25 Albinar 924AF tilt/swivel flash for many months now and really thought I knew everything about it. Being as old as it was, I had assumed that any metering with my K200D beyond eyeballing it would be out of the question.

Yesterday, my friends were teasing me about my camera (you see, anyone with an slr where I am is an anomaly) and eventually convinced me to let them try it out. Being the sport I am, I put on my DA 18-55 II and the Albinar (pointed up for nice, natural lighting) and set the camera to idiot-proof (green) mode. After reviewing the shots they took, and the EXIF on them, it hit me that (even at ISO1600) the program line they were getting was impossible for the dingy room we were in.

It meters! It meters! It meters!

I've tested it time and time again, sometimes the AF-assist lamp will even help out. I'm positively stunned.

There, my rant is done for the evening. :P
