I have the Pentax K20D. The flash sync speed is 1/180th sec. It seems that for 90% of the time, that speed is fast enough. I found that if you are able to sync your flash at a higher shutter speed, you are able to make daylight turn into night. I know technique is used only for special applications like trying to shoot into the sun using the flash and still retain the details in the sky.

I notices that ON camera, my sigma flash is able to sync at ANY speed if I turn on the FP mode. But like I said it is only able to be turned on when the flash is mounted ON the camera.

I was wondering if it is possible to use that to trigger another flash that has a wireless slave and be able to sync at a higher shutter speed.

Or is there any other way to sync at a higher shutter speed OFF the camera?

Yes. You need another flash w/ p-ttl support and you have to use another on your camera (can't use popup flash for HSS)...
