My computer won't read my memory card

Just tried my new K-7 (not very impressed by the way!) with a new Scandisk 4gb SD card. The problem is that my computer seem not to be able to read it. Every time a progrem tries to acces drive F, the program locks. I'm I right to believe that this SDHC card is not compatible with the SD card reader in my computer? Do I have to buy a new SD drive?

Some SD readers can't read SDHC cards. Some offer a firmware update, and that depends on the brand name whether they do or not. Also some that do read SDHC may not read 4gb cards. What computer do you have?

All of the HP 5000 series where built in 05/06 so I doubt it will support SDHC.

Give me the actual model number and I can confirm it for you.

My laptop wouldn't read my sdhc 4gb either. I tried a new driver and then it wouldn't read the old cards. I wound up getting a card reader for pretty cheap and that solved it.

I did what borno did. Just bought a USB SDHC/SD card reader. Paid a total of $10 for. Works a treat!

Ditto here. My laptop was purchased in 05 and has a built in SD card slot.

But it will not read SDHC cards. I bought a Digital Concepts 51-in-1 card reader for about 15 bucks from Wally Mart and it works great!

You can always just use the camera with the provided USB cable. That's what I ended up doing since my card reader was outdated, as well.
