M vs K

Unfortunately it won't fit. K series cameras and earlier have a closer placed slot on the eyepiece. The eyepiece looks similar but the slide in grooves are closer together than the M and later cameras.

As an aside Olympus OM attachments fit the later Pentax cameras rather well.

Have a look at http://kmp.bdimitrov.de/focusing/index.html for information on the transition from K to M eyepieces. My only suggestion is that the all rubber K/Spotmatic eyecups could be "manipulated" onto a M or later body but the fit would be pretty distorted and incredibly tight.

I own both K & M cameras as well as the *istD and can vouch for the difference. However I don't have the eyecup so you never know.

cheers

Greg

thanks greg
from what i've been told all i would need to do is a little mod using a dremel tool to grind off a little metal on the attachment.
