I'm looking for a bag to carry my K7, some lenses, and other needed items. Something that's durable for everyday use. I'm leaning towards the Pentax Slingbag at the moment.

Looking around the internet, it's confusing at some of the items because you cannot really tell the actual size of things. So, my question is, what do you use to carry your gear? Pics?

my hands. I rarely ever carry enough to need a bag.

do you mean transport, like on an airplane, or to carry a smaller subset while out and about.

There is a big difference.

I have several photo backpacks and 2 shoulder bags.

the biggest backpack can carry 2-3 bodies, my 70-200 F2.8,,my 300F4 and perhaps 5 other lenses and my 1.7x AFTC and 2x TC and a flash or two.

the smallest back pack can carry 2 bodies my 70-200 F2.8, my 10-20, my 28-75 F2.8 and a TC

I have a shoulder bag that can hold 2 lenses or a lens and body, that I take with me, while keeping one lens on the second body in my hand. (note the 2 lenses exclue the 70-200F2.7 or 300F4

Love my Lowepro FastPack 200. They have several sizes from which to choose, depending on how much gear you want to schlep. I may pick up a 100 for more local outings.

Camera bags are such personal items and there's so many variables! I have a fanny pack, a shoulder bag, a couple of holster style bags, a Lowepro Slingshot 200 and now a Kata 3N1-30. The holster style bags don't get used much (only hold camera with lens mounted, and then not a large lens). Fanny pack is nice if you are going light. The slingshot was my preferred bag until I got the DA*300, which doesn't fit in it. The Kata 3N1-30 is huge, works really well. It has the advantage of offering backpack straps while still offering the convenience of side-entry (can be from either side). The 30 would be over-kill unless you have big lenses.

I really like the looks of MRock's bags, they are very well made and well padded - they would be worth considering, too.

If you are just starting out you have two choices - either buy a small bag that you plan to keep when you want to go light and plan on buying something larger later or else figure out what you need now and buy a bag that's the next size up from what you need now. It won't take you long to fill it up.

I've got a Domke F-6 that everything lives in, then a Medium Timbuk2 messenger bag with a Tenba insert for day trips, and a M-Rock sling bag for lighter day trips.

For transporting my K10D kit, I use the Think Tank Streetwalker Pro. This is my first backpack, and I wish I had discovered it sooner. For walking about, I have just gotten the Think Tank Skin Chimp Cage, which is a waist pack that I use for holding a couple of lenses and accessories. It is very lightweight, compressible and accessible.

Think Tank is a brand that is not very well known, but their products are exceptionally well designed and constructed.

It is hard to suggest something without knowing what you want to carry, under what conditions and what kind of access you want... Maybe this will help: Camera Bag Guide | NeoCamera.com

It lists the pros and cons of each type of bag. Personally I own one of almost every type and the one I take depends on the assigment or trip. I try to take everything I need but not more. Sometimes it means that I have a bag to travel to my destination and another one to get around once there.

I'm currently using a Kata Prism-U but I just jump on this deal which I believe to be a great bag at a great price.

Not a bag price if the quality turns out like the real Crumpler. I have a 5MDH and would like it to be a just a bit bigger. Usually carry K200D, 16-45, & 50-135.

I use a Tamrac expedition 8x for carrying everything day to day and I have just bought a Lowepro fastpack 250 to go on holiday as the Tamrac is too big and heavy when its full for carry on.
