Quick release neck strap?

I am looking for a quick release strap for my K10D. I would rather have one where the snaps attach directly to the camera instead of having something dangling from the camera when I use it handheld.

Does such an animal exist?

I don't think such an animal exists.

But you may be able to create one from Op/Tech components:

I had #2 during the film days. But the connectors broke after a while.

#11 looks promising, but I've never used it.

I'm currently using #8. There are still something dangling from the camera but it's bearable.

I wonder if I could make something that screws into the tripod thread? Or is that not designed to hold the weight of the camera upside down like a neck strap?

You mean something like this?

You can buy one.

But making one is not that difficult. You need a short piece of angle aliminum, a screw (Home Depot), some hook and webbing (REI).

So it is safe to dangle it like that? Hmm.. might be the way to go.
