The lowpro slingshot 100 is to small. Look at the dolica travel backpack. It has two straps, can be used as a sling bag, two openings on the side. I have the lowpro 200 and when fully loaded it can be heavy. I have been looking at the dolica. You can find the dolica at
D90
That is an interesting bag the Dolica. It looks like a modified Kata 3N1 bag.

As sling bags go I found M-Rock to have the best shape. I like the smaller sizes as it forces you to travel lite.

Its all a function of how much kit you carry!

The best recommendation is take in your gear to the shop (or get a good representation of it from the kit in store) and try it out. I did that and found the 200AW a little large for convenience (but still very good). However the 100AW suited my needs.

Your bag needs will change with time, and you probably need more than one bag ultimately.

In the real world, I wandered around Ireland and the UK for a month with my 100AW packing a Sigma 10-20 f4.5, Sigma 28-70 (the 35mm film version), Pentax FA 50 1.4, K200D, spare batteries, RocketBlower, GorillaPod, mini spirit level, passport, wallet, polarising filters, cleaning tissue & cloth, lens hoods & an apple. It all fitted.

I found it not too heavy, very convenient, and most places in the UK that ban backpacks on your back ignored me (except Harrods).

I also carried (at times) my Manfrotto 681B monopod on a clip on my jeans belt - that was actually less convenient.

Whichever way you go, good luck.

wow, a regular "Three Bears" type of tale.
