K-7 Underwater Casing

I'm looking into my options for a underwater casings for my pentax k-7.

So far I've only found diveross drp100 DRP100 PHOTO - Diveross underwater tecnology, photo and video housing | Plastmeccanica s.r.l

Do anyone here have any experience with diveross equipment? Do you know of any other options for the k-7?

I want to use it with the DA10-17 and DA12-24, would the spherical port fit both of these?

If you plan on snorkeling only, you could get an underwater bag like those from EWA marine or Aquapak. I own the latter and it works very well, plus it's relatively inexpensive.

UK-Germany used to produce housings for the K10. Ikelite has so far refused to produce a housing for the K-7. But I would simply send an email to UK-Germany (www.uk-germany.com) and ask for a K-7 housing. There have been several more requests for it and your email could be the trigger for a production run...

It's for scuba, so I need something that can handle 30m / 100 feet.. And I live in Norway, so it also needs to handle water temperature a few degrees above freezing.

Thank you, I'll send them a request

hi
just wanted to know if you had any luck?
i have a k200d, but that diveross housing works for the k200d as well
they don't quote any prices on their web site, nor how to buy, so i guess you have to contact them directly?

Ikelite doesn't make one for Pentax. Prices run $1500-1700 for Diveross

If you were suitably mechanically inclined, you could knock one up yourself. A few people still do that. But for someone like dtra or me, you'd need to do a few test dives with it empty to make sure it's seals properly.

Ikelite does sell plenty of replacement parts for their housings - buttons, switches, zoom controls and ports - which people often use to build their own.

Of course, I'm not responsible for any advice I give...

I have a fuji finepix f10 point and shoot. the f10 & f11 are very cheap these days and you can get an underwater housing that is good to 40m for it.

i might give that a look, i've actually got an f50, and was looking for underwater housings for it, but couldn't find any, new or used, i don't think it's worth buying a whole new (as in the f1/200) camera, just so that i can get the housing, for something i might do once a year
hmm, but now i see there is one on ebay, happy days

I contacted diveross, and they gave me a pricelist:

*EDIT: Removed because of request from diveross, please contact them for prices*

I'm still considering whether to buy it or not.. it's a big investment.. But if I do, I'll give you a full update after testing it out
Btw, do anyone know if it's possible to trigger nikonos sb-105 (and similar) flashes safely from a pentax dslr? (or is the trigger voltage too high?)

At the moment I use a simple canon d10.. it's cheap and gives gives decent results.. they claim 10m, but i've taken it down to about 20m without any problems. But it's a bitch to use the small buttons when you have to wear large gloves (5 degrees in the sea here now).

Underwater Casing made by Pentax!!

I wasn't aware of this but it's actually available from Pentax itself!!

Not K-7, but K-x (and K-m) which is better than nothing. Should be around $2000.

It seems that water bag is better and inexpensive solution, considering that you can put SLR with grip and flash regardless of size.

I think I'll go with EWA Marine U-B bag, which is compatible with Pentax K-7 too.

What are you using it for? I wouldn't use a bag for anything other than splashing around in a pool / near the beach..

No way a bag can handle the pressure you experience while scuba diving.. Also, all the buttons will be pushed in and be useless at depth.
