I'm sure that the Sigma Germany can send you a part. Here is their website.

I found this thread here in the forum regarding flash repair.

https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-flashes-lighting-technique/93348-f...rts-where.html

yusuf suggested looking at uscamera.com. Here is their international website http://www.uscamera.com/international/1part.htm. They have the part in stock http://www.uscamera.com/international/fo8p012.htm. There is an email address at the bottom of the page if you have any questions.

I also found an ebay supplier that ships worldwide. http://cgi.ebay.com/SIGMA-EF500-FE-500-DG-SUPER-PENTAX-HOT-SHOE-NEW-OEM-/330...#ht_1349wt_906. He sells Pentax, Canon, and Nikon versions of the Sigma part.

Anyone know if the EF-500 & EF-530 have the same hot shoe part?

According to the Uscamera link, the answer is yes. You could email them to confirm.

Thanks, atupdate. I've ordered a base as a spare.

I've busted two bases in about 2 years and the Australian Sigma distributor won't sell just this part so it has been more expensive to repair them.

Montoya,
Could you please tell me where you ordered your foot for your flash. Mine broke and I have been searching for a new foot and no luck with locating one.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Jesse

I got mine of the ebay link below. Took a long time to arrive (out of stock?). I'd written it off as a bad transaction (didn't bother contacting the seller as it wasn't very much to blow), but it did arrive eventually. I only bought it as a spare. I don't need it right now.

Sigma EF-500 Shoe replacement

I ordered mine from USCamera - Where the World Turns for Digital Camera Parts. It cost about $21 for the part and $4 for shipping. Came via 1st class mail in 2 days. It is a Sigma part.

Was easy to replace. No soldering. Just be careful of the springs behind the pins when taking it apart. Also, with the small screws, a small magnectic screw driver helps.

Fixing it yourself for $25 is much better than sending it to someone to fix for > $100.

This is the 2nd time this has happend to me. Happend on another brand flash & camera several years ago.

Since the OP was in 2009, I'm betting he's already fixed it and moved on!

Still nice to have a link for repair parts though.
