Beautiful PENTAX wrist straps from Italian master

For a long time I looked enviously on the nice cases an Italian Leather master offers for his Leica customers: Leicatime Luigi Crescenzi
A very "colourful" webside but fantastic handmade leather accessoires.

The leica-cases wont fit my Pentax cameras and so I asked for one of his wrist-straps. I also opened a little thread in our German Pentax forum DFN and before I turn twice I had the "job" to order 20 wrist-straps for me and my Pentax fellows.

Thats what the Fedex man brought yesterday:

I´m not a leather expert, but I think that Luigi did a great, great job.

Here are detail pics with my K7:

I have no personal or financial relation in any way to Luigi, but I think its interesting to know that there is a gentleman who fulfills wishes from Pentax fans. For example I like the stamping "for PENTAX" Luigi specially made for us very mutch.

Best,
Rainer

I would love to have one of those!!! Where can I get one?

I also love your lens inventory. All primes, filling gaps very nicely. I can see having both 35 and 40 useful even though they are close together. You can also almost justify buying FF based on your lenses if and when they come out with it. Very nice. I think your next lens is the new DFA 100 WR??? I am so sorry to digress. Nice straps!!

Hey, can you read my thoughts??

Yes the new macro would be a nice adition to my lens setup. But I have just bought the DA40 and the K7 so lens buying will stop till winter next year.

For buying one of Luigis straps, I would just send him an email with your wishes. You will find the adress on his webside.

Luigi caters to the Leica crowd. His stuff is gorgeous but quite pricey...

Write Luigi an email under
webmaster@leicatime.com
and ask for an offer for a Pentax wrist strap to your adress.
Send him greetings from Rainer from Germany that he knows how your wrist strap should look.

Best,
Rainer

Love the Black one with Red stitching, wonder if he can do tri-color like my M3 steering wheel! Would be real pricey no doubt!

For this reason, I'm scared to ask the price...

Although, if we North Americans do what Rainer did, it would probably be a bit easier.

It sounds like the famous "Group Deals" we have for motorcycle parts...

LOL I know all about Group Buys

IF people would want to go through with it (theoretically, that is...I know I want one but not if I have to sell a lens or 4 to afford it ), it'd have to be money up front, then order. No deposits, no verbal commitments...

I think thats the point. But we all know that is the point, so that must not be a problem.
I can only tell you what I did.
A thread in our German Pentax forum dfn. Everybody who was interested could put his (and her) name in this thread. I put a deadline of one week for this. After this week we had twenty people who had said that they will buy a strap. I asked for a special price for twenty straps via email at Luigi. He told me a discounted price and offered me free Fedex shipment to my adress and free embossing with Pentax. I calculated the price for one strap and added the price for postal sending to everybodys door. This price I send with my bank details to all interested people. I set them a new deadline of one week to send the money to my bank account and give me their adresses. After only three to four days I could see 19 payments in my account. I thought, "what bloody bastard had misted its payment"?? ...

It took me a day to understand that it was my own payment that missed...

So I ordered the whole 20 wrist straps at Luigi. Within two weeks he manufactured our straps and send them to me. I shipped them to the adresses and everybody is happy now.

What was the final cost per strap, including delivery to the individual buyer?

Wow, beautiful straps!

How much were they each?
Perhaps some of us could go in on a bunch if they are not too expensive...

I love the way the tan ones look. Very "retro" like the straps my dad had for his old Minolta SLR.
