Manfrotto 222 vs. Bogen 3265

Just a quick question. Are there any physical differences between these two, or was it just a name change? I can get one for a few bucks less and just want to be sure there isn't a reason for that.

Bogen change the product number of Manfrotto items that they import into US with Bogen version, If the photo and the description are the same it probably is.

I've had the Manfrotto 222 head.

I sold it and replaced it with the Manfrotto 322rc2.

The 322 is a more versatile head and is rated for greater weight. It can be configured in several ways. One of which is a pistol grip type set up. I'd spend that additional money. You won't regret it

Didn't know about the different configurations. I much preferred the vertical positioning of the 222 over the horizontal positioning of the 322. But am I now correct in assuming the 322 can also be made to be used in the vertical like the 222?

Yes, it can be set up as a pistol grip. I have mine configured that way.

I'll take a photo of it later and post it tomorrow.

as promised.

You can see the two rubber caps at the base. There are two more on the other side. The QR can be mounted for right hand, left hand or pistol grip.
