Oddly, while the 48 AF-1 can function as an off-camera wireless slave it cannot act as a camera-mounted controller for other slaves.

What does the thread title mean? Just a thought but any future person researching Metz 48 won't have a lot of luck finding this thread and as far as your question goes, someone who knows everything about the Metz48 won't get to see the question.

Seems simple to me, you can use another flash to fire it but you can't use it to fire another flash. That's based on what you are saying.
