BG3 Defective?

Hello all,

I recently bought a BG3 Battery grip for my K200D from Amazon.com. After hooking the grip up to my body using LI-ON energizers, I noticed that when I press my review key after taking a photo, it wont always work. I sometimes have to press it 3 or 4 times before it will display the photo and even then it only displays for 1 second even though my settings are at 3 or 5 seconds. I've also seen some ghosting going on with my lenses as well even though im not even touching the shutter button at all, it seems to try to focus on its own. I may however have accidentally activated that as a feature in my camera though. Should I send this item back or to Pentax to get fixed?

Make sure the shutter button on the grip is turned off until you want to use it then turn it back off until you want to use it the next time. It's real easy to bump it and have these things happen. I had the same things happen until I figured out what was happening.

Hope this helps,

Keith has it. It used to drive me nuts with the K10D and D-BG2 until someone here mentioned that touching the shutter release on the grip might be the problem. It was.

I have the BG3 (Got it for $30 from Amazon). I had this same problem. Keep the grip turned off unless you are holding the camera portrait. I couldn't view my pictures or anything then I realized my hand was touching the shutter button.
